RL Verified™ is not a prerequisite for RL Certification. If your property already meets the minimum requirements to begin the Certification process, go directly — applying for RL Verified™ first adds no value and may delay your recognition.

RL Destinations programs are destination-level agreements with governments, DMOs, or regional bodies — such as Veracruz Regenerativo — that already cover hotels in that territory under a separate framework.
If your property is located within an active RL Destinations territory, you are not eligible for RL Verified™. Contact us or check the public directory to confirm your destination’s status.
RL Verified™ and RL Certification are mutually exclusive. A property that holds an active RL Certification cannot apply for or hold RL Verified™ simultaneously. If your Certification lapses and you wish to maintain some form of RL recognition while you rebuild, speak with our team about options.
RL Verified™ is not RL Certification.
These are not two tiers of the same product. They are different instruments with different scopes, different credibility, and different commercial weight. A property cannot hold both simultaneously.

RL Verified™ is for properties that are not yet at the minimum threshold to begin RL Certification. It provides credible, independently reviewed recognition while they build toward that standard — with full transparency about what it covers and what it does not.
Assessment is conducted on RL Compass at the Verified access level — the same platform used for full Certification, scoped to 30 KPIs. Documentary evidence is submitted for each KPI and reviewed individually by a certified RL reviewer within 48–72 hours. Upon approval, an annual digital seal is issued, clearly identified as Entry Level in all RL communications and directories.
Renewable annually. Active as long as you qualify.
RL Verified™ renews annually. Each renewal requires a new assessment submission and payment of the annual fee. There is no limit on the number of renewals — the seal remains active for as long as your property continues to qualify.
If a renewal assessment is not approved on the first submission, a 30-day grace period is granted to address the identified gaps and resubmit. If the revised submission is not approved within this window, the seal lapses until a successful renewal is completed.
Active RL Verified™ holders receive a formal discount toward RL Certification when they choose to progress. Your annual assessments and gap analysis also count as structured preparation, reducing the time and effort required to enter the Certification process.
If your destination launches an RL Destinations program while you hold an active RL Verified™ seal, your seal remains valid until the end of your current annual period. It will not be renewed thereafter — your property will be invited to participate in the destination program instead.

Access RL Compass at the Verified access level and track 30 KPIs across key regenerative dimensions, uploading supporting documentary evidence for each.
Spot-check Review
A certified RL reviewer individually evaluates your submission within 48–72 hours. Clarifying questions may be raised before a decision is issued.
Seal + Gap Report
Upon approval, your RL Verified™ seal is issued alongside a full gap analysis report toward RL Certification — your roadmap from day one. Active seal holders also receive access to RL Compass at Entry Level, enabling ongoing KPI tracking as you build toward Certification.
