In the hospitality industry, we identified a significant gap. On one hand, we’ve entered a new era that redefines the meaning of luxury. On the other hand, while standards for hotels and large resorts have evolved, boutique hotels and retreats—driven by passionate entrepreneurs—are often overlooked. These unique properties focus on delivering personalized luxury. They need a certification that recognizes their regenerative efforts. This certification supports their contributions to global regenerative awareness.
To bridge this gap, we have launched the Regenera Luxury Hospitality Awards—the world’s first data-driven awards program for regenerative hospitality. While traditional awards reward reputation, we reward measurable impact verified through our proprietary Regenerative Management System (RL RMS). This ensures boutique hotels and retreats are recognized for their actual contributions to nature and people, moving the industry from marketing claims to true, data-backed regeneration.

REGENERA LUXURY was introduced by UN Tourism as the first global seal and management system for regenerative luxury hotels and retreats at event organized in Honduras by UN and CAF. Mr. de Castro highlighted that true regenerative luxury goes beyond sustainability, creating positive, measurable impacts on people, planet, and profits, ensuring that tourism development is both responsible and transformative.
Unveiled at ITB Berlin 2026, the Regenera Luxury Hospitality Awards establish a new global benchmark for regenerative leadership. Grounded in our partnership with global tourism leadership, this program provides owners, operators, and GMs with a credible framework to benchmark progress and showcase authentic leadership in the rapidly evolving regenerative travel movement.
As luxury hospitality evolves beyond sustainability opulence into meaningful, regenerative experiences, smaller hotels and retreats often lack clear guidance. Recognizing this, Mr. Héctor De Castro began extensive PhD research in 2019, collaborating with European experts to establish the world’s first regenerative luxury certification.
Since then, we’ve shaped the industry through international fairs, academic partnerships, and sustainability conferences. As an NGO, we go beyond certification by offering sponsored consulting, training, marketing, a booking platform, and career development programs to support hotels, entrepreneurs, and communities.
Regenera Luxury is more than a certification—it’s a movement and a measurable framework to evolve luxury hospitality for a better future. With the 2026 launch of our Global Awards, we now offer an integrated pathway that includes sponsored consulting, performance-based awards, and certification. This enables hotels of all sizes—from independent boutique properties to global brands—to transition from sustainability toward active regeneration, restoring the ecosystems and communities they call home.
