Few figures in the wellness and hospitality industry embody the evolution of luxury and purpose as gracefully as Kent Richards. Over more than two decades, he has shaped some of the world’s most recognized wellness experiences — from his early days with Virgin Active, Fitness First, and W Hotels, to his most recent 11-year tenure as Corporate Director of Spa and Wellness Operations at Six Senses, one of the most respected global brands in regenerative hospitality.
This week, during a friendly meeting and conversation between friends, beyond the collaboration with Regenera Luxury, Kent shared with me his new professional chapter — the creation of Wellness World Global, a consultancy born from his vision to help hotels, resorts, and wellness destinations elevate their impact, authenticity, and sense of purpose.
As we discussed his journey and his next steps, it was clear that Kent’s trajectory is driven by values that deeply resonate with our own at Regenera Luxury — inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and a relentless pursuit of wellness that regenerates both people and place.

When asked about his time at Six Senses, Kent reflected with humility:
“I would say it is really important working with a team to create and implement strategies making wellness accessible for all, and that happened at Six Senses. Always being true to company values, specifically sustainability, and sensitive to local cultures.”
He also highlighted how the brand’s strength lies not only in design or innovation, but in the people who bring each property to life:
“At Six Senses, facilities design is always innovative, but it’s the people who made it an award-winning respected brand.”
Throughout our conversation, his appreciation for collaboration, continuous learning, and cultural awareness stood out as guiding principles — values that mirror the human-centered, regenerative approach that Regenera Luxury promotes within the luxury hospitality sector.

Looking back on his career, Kent shared candidly:
“Six Senses taught me to be inclusive — hearing multiple opinions before a strategy was implemented. It also taught me that all steps forward are progress. Finally, while being direct can be good, it needs to add value to the process.”
His journey has taken him across more than 20 countries, from New York and Hong Kong to the Seychelles, Rome, and the Maldives — each destination enriching his understanding of how culture, place, and wellbeing intertwine.

Kent’s new venture, Wellness World Global, represents the natural evolution of his career — an independent consultancy built upon decades of leadership in spa, fitness, and wellness operations.
“The future is bright! I’m enjoying the freedom of working with multiple brands and projects focused now on delivering wellness strategies across multiple cultures.”
His work will span continents, driven by the same dedication that marked his Six Senses era, now combined with a renewed independence and strategic vision. Deeply connected to his roots, Kent continues to contribute to the Global Wellness Institute’s Africa Wellness Initiative (AWI), strengthening local wellness networks, empowering practitioners, and celebrating indigenous wisdom.
