Hotel Casa 1800 Seville begins the audit process to become a certified Regenera Luxury property, marking a milestone in regenerative tourism and luxury hospitality in Seville’s historic center.
Seville, the beating heart of Andalusian culture, is embracing a new era of tourism — one rooted in regeneration, beyond sustainability. We are proud to announce that Hotel Casa 1800 Seville has officially begun the audit process to become a certified Regenera Luxury Hotel, setting a new standard for eco luxury hotels and luxury boutique hotels in Andalusia, Spain.
Nestled in the historic Santa Cruz district and steps away from Seville’s most iconic landmarks — La Giralda, Torre del Oro, Plaza España or the Real Alcázar — this 19th-century mansion-palace is not only a symbol of Seville’s romantic past, but now also of its regenerative future.

Originally constructed in 1864, Hotel Casa 1800 Seville was built in the traditional style of Seville’s mansion-palaces, with a grand entrance allowing carriages to pass through solid studded doors into a sunlit central patio. Painstakingly restored over two years, the building today blends original architectural elements with modern comforts — offering guests a window into Seville’s golden age while embracing the innovations of regenerative hospitality.

“At CASA 1800 Hotels, we believe true luxury lies in responsibility to share and protect our legacy, our community, and our environment. Achieving the Regenera Luxury Certification is not just a goal, it’s a reflection of our deepest values. We are committed to creating a hotel experience that not only honors Seville’s rich past but actively contributes to a thriving and regenerative future.”
— Francisca García, CEO, CASA 1800 Hotels
From its rooftop terrace, visitors are treated to panoramic views of the city’s most treasured landmarks — from the majestic Cathedral of Seville and its famed bell tower, La Giralda, to the lush gardens of the Real Alcázar. It is here, surrounded by living history, that the spirit of regenerative tourism takes root.

While sustainable tourism seeks to minimize negative impact, regenerative tourism goes further: it aims to leave places better than we found them. It restores ecosystems, revives cultural heritage, and supports local communities — economically, socially, and spiritually.
As Neil Jacobs, founder and CEO of SIX SENSES Hotel Group states:
“The future of luxury hospitality is regenerative. It’s about creating destinations that flourish, not just profitable businesses.””
Similarly, Hector De Castro, Chairman of Regenera Luxury, reminds us:
“Luxury has the power to transform. And luxury hotels have the right position to lead by example. By implementing regenerative practices they are not only enhancing their guest experience and brand value, but also actively supporting local communities and destinations.“
Hotel Casa 1800 Seville’s participation in the Regenera Luxury certification process signals a deep commitment to this vision — ensuring that its operations not only preserve the historical and cultural value of its surroundings, but also actively contribute to Seville’s local economy, community well-being, and environmental health.

According to Turismo de Sevilla, the city welcomed over 3.1 million visitors in 2023, with international tourism showing strong recovery and growth post-pandemic. The most-visited monuments remain the Cathedral, the Real Alcázar, and the Plaza de España — all within walking distance from Hotel Casa 1800.
Seville was also ranked in the Top 10 Best Cities in Europe by Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler in 2023, highlighting its cultural charm, culinary excellence, and walkable historic core. Yet, as tourism surges, the call for more responsible and community-rooted travel becomes louder.

The Regenera Luxury Certification is not just a badge or a movement — it is a transformation tool for luxury hotels, helping them evolve from being passively sustainable to actively regenerative. The certification assesses key pillars such as:
By undergoing this rigorous audit, Hotel Casa 1800 Seville is becoming a living example of how luxury hospitality can be a force for good — a place where guests not only enjoy elegance and comfort, but also become part of a deeper story of regeneration and stewardship.

The regeneration of Seville is not about more tourists — it’s about better tourism. It’s about inviting guests to connect with the soul of the city, to support local artisans, taste native flavors, and sleep in places that honor history while embracing a living future.
By embracing regenerative principles, Hotel Casa 1800 will help redefine what it means to be a luxury boutique hotel in the 21st century. It will inspire others in the region and beyond to raise the bar for eco luxury hospitality — not by doing less harm, but by doing more good.
As Seville continues to welcome the world, we invite travelers to look deeper, stay longer, and leave better — because regeneration begins with awareness, and flourishes through connection.
